…Recently, Onii-chan has been acting a bit weird. He’s… above the clouds, you could say? I feel like he’s been spacing out way more often than usual.

“Onii-chan, what’s wrong?”

“…Eh? N-No, it’s nothing!”

When I called out to him, he returned to his senses and continued eating his food. Currently, we’re eating dinner, but these kinds of exchanges tend to happen a lot as of late.

It’s like he’s looking far off into the distance… and when our eyes meet, he suddenly averts his gaze, too! Though it’s very embarrassing when you stare at me, that reaction makes it almost look like you’re avoiding me! Just thinking that makes me want to cry, so please don’t do that!

…N-No, this isn’t the time to be complaining. Instead, I should be figuring out the reason for his behaviour. That being said, I can’t think of anything…

I thought that he might be having problems with his own novel, but he’s never acted like this before. It’s almost like it’s because of that incident that happened at the back of the school. Though it was a misunderstanding, he had clearly told me that he didn’t want me to get a boyfriend. That really made me happy! Hehehehe! Ah, I shouldn’t be acting happy right now! Maybe he finally became conscious of me—No, when I calmly think about it, that doesn’t sound very plausible.

O-Of course I’d be the happiest person in the world if that were the case, but that’s just wishful thinking. Rather than dwelling in these possibilities, I should think about how I can make him become conscious of me.

…With that in mind, I have to prepare for a harsh fight during this coming summer of my new high school student life! Y-You’d better prepare yourself, Onii-chan! We’ll embark on our journey towards adulthood very soon!
