I’ve kept you waiting. Ebisu Seiji here. Thank you very much for reading volume 9 of ‘Ore Ga Suki Nano Wa Imouto Dakedo Imouto Janai’. For the people who have decided to read this afterword first, please read it carefully. Thank you very much.
Now then, in this volume, Yuu finally reached his turning point that had teased since the 8th volume. With this, it truly feels like we’re nearing the climax, and not just from the reader’s standpoint, but also as the author. Change didn’t just befall the Nagami siblings, but also Mai, who’s had a crucial role this time around. I would be delighted if you enjoyed it. Also, we have Yuu, who has made his decision. Now, what will happen with him and Suzuka—I would be very much delighted if my dear readers would support the series as fiercely as ever.
Now, to leave the topic of the main series here, I decided to change this afterword up a bit and give a short introduction to the author himself: Ebisu Seiji.
“Why did you decide that so suddenly?” “No no, if you have the time for that, work on the next manuscript man,” you might be thinking, and I hear you. However, there are some important circumstances this time around… After all, I have to write a 5-page afterword this time. Yes yes, before you complain, let me tell you that I have really been struggling with this. I mean, I’ve been bad at writing afterwords since the very beginning. Or rather, it’s not like I have problems with it, I just never know what to write.
About the main series. About what comes next. Anything that might be slightly interesting… There are several things, but they won’t take me to five pages…
I’m sure that other more skilled authors would be able to quickly whip up an interesting story to fill the pages, but as for myself, I can’t, so I can only fall back to doing a short self-introduction here, so please bear with me. Since I’ve never written one of these kinds of short introductions inside the novels themselves (on the cover), so this might be the perfect chance to establish a profile of mine at least somewhere, right? For now, I’ll give you some general information about myself.
About my taste in food… I can mostly eat anything. Phew this kind of feels like a big minus in terms of making me look special, but that’s just how it is. I’m not really a picky eater, and I can eat anything aside from strange combinations. If I had to pick a favourite kind of food, it’d be seafood, like shellfish, shrimp, lobsters, and the like. The only thing I’m really bad with is fatty meat.
My favorite season is winter. I have a lot of trouble falling asleep at times, so when I can snuggle into my blanket during the cold winter days, I can fall asleep very quickly.
Concerning my taste in music, I don’t really have a preference. I listen to classic, anime songs, western music, and even BGM from games I play.
I guess my hobby could be playing games in between my job. I don’t know if I really deserve to call myself a gamer, but when I was a kid, I spent a lot of time playing games, and I still do now. Looking at how I’m doing right now, I think I’ll probably continue to play them. In my opinion, there’s three types of gamers out there (according to me, at least).
The first is the one-console gamer who shares it with everyone in the house..
The second kind of person is the mobile gamer, and there’s been quite an increase in the number of these in recent years.
Finally, the third is the normal PC gamer.
At first I belonged to the first group, born and raised, but now I’ve completely turned into the PC type. Ever since really getting into MMORPGs back during my student times, I’ve continued to play games on the PC. I do sometimes use game consoles, yes, but the PC is still the main part of my gaming. Naturally, all this talk might make me sound like some hardcore gamer, but rest assured, my skill at playing games has certainly not improved over time, and even newcomers can quickly surpass me in any game…
This already concludes my short self-introduction. Again, I’m really sorry that you had to put up with this. Writing afterwords is really difficult… But anyway, it’s time for the real last part of the afterword: The thanks.
This time around, my dear illustrator Gintarou-san has drawn wonderful illustrations as always, and the drawing of Suzuka on this volume’s cover is beautifully done. Including him, my dear people from the editorial department, printing, publishing, and all the other people involved in the distribution of this novel, as well as everyone who has picked up yet another of my works, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Here’s to hoping that we’ll soon get to see each other again—
The 18th of July, 2019. Ebisu Seiji
